HC Deb 17 July 1984 vol 64 cc88-9W
Mr. Madden

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department how many immigration officers, transferred in each of the last three years, within the United Kingdom, have been required to move home.

Mr. Brittan

A civil servant permanently transferred within the United Kingdom is not directly required to move home, but is permitted to do so at public expense if the circumstances warrant. The numbers of immigration officers who have removed home during the past three years are not readily available in the form requested and could be obtained only at disproportionate cost.

Mr. Madden

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department how many immigration officers, serving in Hull and Dover, have been transferred in each of the last three years.

Mr. Brittan

The figures are as follows:

Immigration Officers transferred from Hull

1982 Nil
1983 Nil

Immigration Officers transferred from Dover
