asked the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will give the numbers of local authority, Scottish Special Housing Association, new town development corporation, housing association and private dwellings in (i) each local authority district and (ii) Scotland at 30 September 1979 and 31 March 1984.

Mr. Craigen

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will produce a table showing the numbers of houses of non-traditional construction in each local authority district owned by local authorities, the Scottish Special Housing Association, new town development corporations and others; and how many of these houses were built before 1955 and how many built after 1955.

Information on the number of local authority dwellings of non-traditional construction built before 1955 as reported by authorities is given in the table.

No figures are available on dwellings owned by local authorities built after 1955 or on dwellings in the private sector.

I shall write to the hon. Member about dwellings owned by the Scottish Housing Association and new town development corporations.
