§ Mr. Parryasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department how many arrests and how many convictions there have been for (a) carrying illegal firearms, (b) grievous bodily harm and (c) rape on Merseyside in each of the past six years.
§ Mr. Mellor[pursuant to his reply, 12 July 1984]: Information on arrests for individual offences is not 90W available centrally. Central records for Merseyside in 1982 show 11 persons found guilty of carrying illegal firearms, 45 of wounding or other act endangering life, and 13 of rape. Sentencing information for earlier years could be provided only at disproportionate cost and for 1983 is not yet available.
