§ Mr. Peter Bruinvelsasked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs if he will list all countries which do not have extradition treaties with the United Kingdom.
§ Mr. WhitneyI refer my hon. Friend to the reply given to my hon. Friend the Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for the Home Department on 20 December 1983, at column133–35 which listed the foreign countries with which the United Kingdom has extradition treaties in force. It follows that we have no extradition treaties with foreign countries not named in that list. Extradition as between the United Kingdom and other members of the Commonwealth is regulated by the Fugitive Offenders Act 1967.
