HC Deb 11 July 1984 vol 63 c587W
Rev. Ian Paisley

asked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland what numbers and percentages of households in each of the Northern Ireland Housing Executive housing districts of the north-eastern region lacked basic amenities at the latest available date.

Mr. Chris Patten

Information in the form requested is not readily available; however, tables 9.4, 9.5, 9.6, 9.7, 9.20, 9.21 and 9.22 in the "Northern Ireland house condition survey 1979" (Preliminary Report), published by the Northern Ireland Housing Executive, show the total number of dwellings lacking at least one basic amenity in each of the district council areas in the north-eastern region. Copies are available in the Library.

A new house condition survey is now under way and it is expected that preliminary results will be available in the autumn.
