§ Mr. Forthasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer when the final details of the new mechanism for budgetary discipline of the European Economic Community will be negotiated and made available to the House.
§ Mr. Ian StewartFollowing the European Council at Fontainebleau, we are at present carrying forward work on arrangements to secure budgetary discipline. It is not possible to give a date when the final details will be available though, as my right hon. Friend the Prime Minister made clear, the Government will submit to the House proposals on new own resources only when the arrangements are in place.
