§ Mr. Peter Robinsonasked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland what training or other facilities are available to assist (a) chairmen and (b) members of supplementary benefit tribunals in Northern Ireland in carrying out their function.
§ The Attorney-GeneralI have been asked to reply because the Lord Chancellor assumed responsibility for the appointment of the president and chairmen of Social Security appeal tribunals and medical appeal tribunals for Northern Ireland on 4 June 1984.
From that date the president became statutorily responsible for the provision of appropriate training for the chairmen and members of these tribunals. The Lord Chancellor is, therefore, arranging for this Question to be drawn to the attention of the President.
