§ Mr. David Howellasked the Secretary of State for Transport when next he intends to bring before Parliament for review the powers available to the Metropolitan police to affix wheel clamps; and when these powers were last reviewed.
§ Mr. RidleyWe are currently taking stock of the effects so far of the experimental use of wheel clamps in central London. I shall in due course publish a report of the findings before final decisions are taken about whether the powers for the use of clamps should be extended beyond May 1985, when the present Order expires.
