HC Deb 09 July 1984 vol 63 c393W
Mr. Ernie Ross

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland what is the current strength of the rent officer service in Scotland; how this compares with 1980; what is the forecast strength in 1985; and what is the recommended complement.

Mr. Ancram

I refer to the reply which I gave to the hon. Member for Glasgow, Maryhill (Mr. Craigen) on 13 June at column504. In 1980, there were 36 rent officers and five senior rent officers. The current strength comprises the full complement established in 1983 following a review of the anticipated requirements of the service; no alteration is currently envisaged.
