Mr. Knox

asked the Secretary of State for Employment how many disabled people were registered at each employment office in north Staffordshire at the most recent date for which figures are available.

The numbers of registered disabled people unemployed and registered for work at each of the jobcentres in north Staffordshire at 8 June 1984, the latest date available, are as follows.

asked the Secretary of State for Employment what proportion of employers with more than 20 employees in areas served by north Staffordshire employment offices employed at least 3 per cent. of registered disabled people under the Disabled Persons (Employment) Act 1944 at the most recent date for which figures are available.

The quota provisions of the Disabled Persons (Employment) Act 1944 apply to employers with twenty or more employees. On 1 June 1984, 42.4 per cent. of such employers in the area served by jobcentres in north Staffordshire were employing at least 3 per cent. of registered disabled people in their work force.
