HC Deb 09 July 1984 vol 63 c434W
Mr. Cartwright

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment if he will list all the reports commissioned by his Department since 1979 dealing with the concentrations of arsenic in surface waters; and if he will place copies in the Library.

Mr. Waldegrave

Only one study concerning the concentration of arsenic in surface waters has been commissioned by the Department of Environment since 1979. It was part of a wider study dealing with several metals. The final report, containing the main results and conclusions of the study and entitled "Determination of Pollutants in Effluents" (WRC report 550-M, May 1983), was placed in the Library of the House following the hon. Member's question to the House on 16 February 1984.
