§ Mr. John PattenI understand that my hon. Friend the Member for Thanet, North (Mr. Gale) has referred some aspects of this case to Kent family practitioner committee and the General Medical Council. Certain other matters have been brought to the attention of the police. Responsibility for monitoring the privately run residential home concerned and for taking action, if necessary, to ensure adequate standards rests with Kent county council. We shall write to my hon. Friend shortly about the allegations of social security fraud.
