§ 38. Mr. David Atkinsonasked the Secretary of State for Social Services what representations he has recently received about the Food Hygiene (General) Regulations 1970.
§ Mr. John PattenIn submitting their comments on a general revision of food law, both the Association of District Councils and the Association of Metropolitan Authorities have included matters relevant to current food hygiene regulations — the need to extend temperature control of food offered for sale and a need for further controls on the practice known as "pack your own food". Representations on these two matters have also been received from individual local authorities. Officials are currently preparing a report for Ministers about the need to proceed with a general review of food law.
