§ Mr. MellorRecords available to us, which may be incomplete, show four persons proceeded against under the Deer Act 1980 since the Act came into operation at the beginning of November 1980 up to the end of 1982. All were found guilty, fined, and ordered to pay compensation; the average fine was £75 and the average compensation £29. Information for 1983 is not yet available.
