Mr. Ron Brown

asked the Secretary of State for Employment how many work permits have been granted to foreign speedway riders; what countries they come from; and which British teams employ them.

Up to the present time 32 work permits have been issued for overseas speedway riders to compete in British league events during 1984. However, I understand that only 29 riders have so far arrived. Details of nationalities and teams are as follows:
