Mr. John David Taylorasked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland what evidence he has that the courts of the Republic of Ireland are continuing to use the pretext that a political offence has been committed to refuse to extradite those wanted for criminal offences where these involve acts committed against the security forces in the United Kingdom; and what action he proposes to take in this matter.
§ Mr. PriorI am not aware of any recent case involving acts against the security forces where a court in the Republic of Ireland has refused to order the return of a fugitive to Northern Ireland on the ground that the warrant related to a political offence.
