HC Deb 04 July 1984 vol 63 c163W
Mr. Wheeler

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment (1) if he will consider seeking to extend enfranchisement rights to lessees affected by the stop date imposed by the Leasehold Reform Act 1967, and which were subsequently brought within the Rent Act provisions of £1,500 per annum rateable value in London;

(2) if he will consider removing the stop date of April 1966, in respect of lessees of houses where the leases were granted after that date and at the time of the grant the rateable value of the houses was over £400 per annum in London but which were subsequently brought within the Rent Act in 1972.

Sir George Young

My right hon. Friend has no plans at present to extend the scope of leasehold enfranchisement.

Mr. Wheeler

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment if he will give the number of lessees or houses which are affected by the stop date imposed by the Leasehold Reform Act 1967, and which were subsequently brought within the Rent Act provisions of £1,500 per annum rateable value in London.

Sir George Young

The Government do not collect information about individual leases.
