§ Mr. Kennedyasked the Secretary of State for Social Services if he will list the voluntary organisations which have applied for and have received grant aid; if he will list those voluntary arginsations which have applied for grant aid and have not yet received a response; and if he will make a statement.
§ Mr. Newton[pursuant to his reply, 2 July 1984, c. 69]: I would refer the hon. Member to my replies to the hon. Member for Leeds, West (Mr. Meadowcroft) on 22 June at column 316, and 25 June at column 359.
Detailed information is not readily available in the form requested, because the process of responding to grant applications involves discussion with, and frequently a request for further information from, the organisation concerned. Moreover, grant applications may relate either to administrative costs for a particular period or to particular projects or to one-off items of expenditure; and 209W in many cases organisations apply for separate grants for different purposes, some of which have been decided and some of which are still under discussion.
