§ Mr. Conway
asked the Secretary of State for Transport when he expects to announce a date for the public inquiry into the Shrewsbury bypass proposals.

§ Mrs Chalker
The objection period ended on 28 June. We shall now approach the Lord Chancellor to seek the appointment of an inspector and set the date for the public inquiry.
It will be a few weeks before we can make an announcement.
