HC Deb 03 July 1984 vol 63 c126W
50. Mr. Patrick Thompson

asked the Secretary of State for Employment what is the extent to which the Manpower Services Commission is funded from the European social fund.

Mr. Gummer

In 1983 the Manpower Services Commission was allocated £225.6 million from the European social fund. This included £209 million towards youth training, £10.5 million for projects for the disabled and certain smaller items.

Overall about 10 per cent. of the Manpower Service Commission's social fund is met from the allocations made by the social fund and these allocations represent 20 per cent. of the whole social fund budget.
