§ Mr. Alfred Morrisasked the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry what action he will take as a result of the documents relating to Messenger Group Newspapers Ltd. which he has received from the Attorney-General and which were sent to the Attorney-General by the right hon. Member for Manchester, Wythenshawe.
§ Mr. FletcherAs Messenger Group Newspapers Ltd. is not a relevant company for the purposes of section 53 of the Companies Act 1980, no criminal offence is revealed in relation to the loans disclosed in the documents supplied by the right hon. Member. The accounts for year ended 31 March 1983 appear to comply with the disclosure requirements of Section 54 Companies Act 1980. As a result, on the basis of the information at present before me, I do not propose to take any further action.
