HC Deb 02 July 1984 vol 63 c14W
36. Mr. Maclennan

asked the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry what representations he has received from representatives of industry and commerce and the local authorities in the Highlands and Islands of Scotland about regional industrial policy; and what reply he has given.

Mr. Norman Lamont

A total of seven submissions were received from the Highlands and Islands of Scotland by the deadline of 31 May. Of these, four were from local authorities, and three were from representatives of trade and industry. All have been assured that the points they have made will be most carefully considered before final decisions are taken on those aspects of future regional industrial policy on which views were invited.
