HC Deb 02 July 1984 vol 63 cc67-8W
Mr. Alfred Morris

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services if he will make urgently available to the North-West regional health authority funds sufficient to make it unnecessary for patients in Manchester requiring major heart surgery to be transferred to London hospitals.

Mr. John Patten

The right hon. Member may wish to contact the chairman of the North Western regional health authority for information about the existing imaginative arrangements for providing services to heart patients from within the region and about the authority's plans for expansion of services in Manchester.
