HC Deb 30 January 1984 vol 53 c19W
Mr. Skinner

asked the Attorney-General what decisions have been reached in respect of the fraud squad inquiry into the Stern property break-up initiatied by Sir Kenneth Cork; and if he will make a statement.

The Attorney-General

Inquiries which were initiated by Sir Kenneth Cork as a result of allegations of impropriety in transactions involved in the break-up of the Stern group of companies were conducted by the City of London fraud squad. It reported its findings to the Director of Public Prosecutions. In November of 1981 the Director of Public Prosecutions concluded that the inquiry has found no evidence of the commission of any criminal offences and he advised the Commissioner of Police for the City of London that no further action was required.
