§ Mr. Maclennanasked the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will undertake to make additional capital allocation to the police and fire services in Scotland to meet expenditure on equipment and additional hilltop sites necessitated by the changeover of police and fire services' mobile radio systems to new radio frequencies.
§ Mr. AncramPolice and fire authorities have been notified by circular of the arrangements that will apply for financing the changeover. In accordance with these, the block capital allocations and provisional allocations covering the period 1984–85 to 1986–87 issued to authorities on 26 January take full account of their proposed expenditure on it. We shall continue to take account of the costs in allocations throughout the period of the changeover.
