§ Mr. Wheelerasked the Secretary of State for the Environment whether he has any plans to translate the Government's housing booklets into foreign languages.
§ Sir George YoungWe are arranging for the translation of four of the booklets in our housing booklet series, "The Rent Acts and You", "Letting Rooms in Your Home", "Notice to Quit" and "Home Improvement Grants", into five Asian languages—Bengali, Gujerati, Hindi, Punjabi and Urdu. We decided to go ahead with these translations following consultations with a range of interested bodies, including the Commission for Racial Equality and the National Association of Citizens' Advice Bureaux. We will be consulting further on how best to distribute and publicise the translations when they are available.
