HC Deb 30 January 1984 vol 53 c87W
Mr. Andrew Bowden

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment what calculations his Department has made of likely savings that will be made from April when 270,000 pensioner households will lose entitlement to housing benefit and thus become entitled only to 66 per cent. home insulation grants instead of 90 per cent., where their lofts are uninsulated.

Sir George Young

There is insufficient data to make a precise calculation of the saving but it is likely to be below £1 million.
