HC Deb 30 January 1984 vol 53 c24W
Mr. Dalyell

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs if he will study the suggestion by Mr. Ian Strange, in Oryx, the journal of the Flora and Fauna Preservation Society, in January 1984, a copy of which has been sent to him, of making the Falklands or part of the Falklands into an international wildlife reserve; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Raison

There are no plans at present to create an international wildlife reserve on the Falklands. The conservation and ecology needs of the islands were examined by a visiting consultant last month and the Falkland Islands Government will be considering his report.
