HC Deb 30 January 1984 vol 53 c3W
31. Mr. Terlezki

asked the Secretary of State for Energy how many coal miners were employed in each of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development countries in the last available year.

Mr. Giles Shaw

The table shows estimates of numbers employed in coal mining, including surface workers, in the main OECD coal-producing countries. The data have been taken from a number of different sources. They are therefore unlikely to be strictly comparable and should be taken only as broadly indicative of the position.
