HC Deb 30 January 1984 vol 53 cc35-6W
Mr. Andrew F. Bennett

asked the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry if he will take steps to ensure those people using citizens band radios, particularly to help the housebound, the handicapped and the sick, do not suffer interferrence by people jamming bands with music or interrupting with obscenities.

Mr. Alexander Fletcher

It is not possible within existing resources to police the citizens band radio channels in such a way as to ensure complete freedom from misuse. The radio interference service is, however, available to investigate cases of misuse where this can be done without prejudice to priority work.
