asked the Solicitor-General for Scotland how many convictions there were for the poaching of deer in Scotland for each of the last five years.

There are no figures available for the number of convictions for poaching of deer in Scotland as such. However, in 1979. 1980, 1981 and 1982 there were respectively 34, 31, 37 and 48 persons convicted of offences relating to deer. No figures are yet available for 1983.

There are no figures available for the number of convictions for poaching of salmon in Scotland as such. However, in 1979, 1980, 1981 and 1982 there were respectively 262, 338, 312 and 385 persons convicted of offences relating to salmon and freshwater fisheries. No figures are yet available for 1983.
