HC Deb 26 January 1984 vol 52 c635W
Mr. Parry

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he will make a statement on his recent visit to Liverpool.

Mr. Lawson

I visited Merseyside on 20 January and met members of the board of the Merseyside Development Corporation. I was shown the site of the international garden festival, the new enterprise workshops sponsored by British American Tobacco and the restoration of the Albert Dock warehouse complex.

After speaking to the Wirral Conservative Federation in Ellesmere port, I visited the north west 3 district tax office in Bootle and finally attended a dinner given by the Merseyside chamber of commerce and industry at which I was the guest speaker.
