Mr. Adley

asked the Prime Minister if she will indicate whom from Hong Kong, other than the Governor, representatives of the Government, and members of the Executive and Legislative Councils, she personally has met and discussed future constitutional arrangements in the territory.

When I visited Hong Kong in September 1982 I was able to meet representatives of a broad range of public opinion and to discuss with them

many aspects of Hong Kong's future development. Since then I have kept in touch with the views of people in Hong Kong through a variety of official and unofficial channels. I particularly value my regular discussions with the Governor and the unofficial members of the Executive Council, who are well placed to reflect the opinions of Hong Kong people.
