asked the Secretary of State for Defence if he will make public the same data as are available to the public in the United States as to the content and cost of defence equipment items purchased by his Department from United States' sources.

It is a longstanding practice of Her Majesty's Government to treat details of individual contract prices as commercially confidential. This is designed to protect the Government's position as buyer. United States practice is governed by United States laws and procedures.
