HC Deb 24 January 1984 vol 52 c462W
Mr. Simon Hughes

asked the Secretary of State for Defence if he will give details of the arrangements that are to be made for the future safeguarding of ancient monuments on military training areas, in the light of his meeting with the Council for British Archaeology.

Mr. Stanley

The Council of British Archaeology has been in correspondence with my right hon. Friend about the archaelogically sensitive areas of the Salisbury Plain training area. The arrangements for the future safeguarding of these areas are currently being considered by the Department of the Environment and my Department.
