asked the Secretary of State for Defence what was the cost in 1982–83 of equipping Vulcan, Nimrod, and Hercules aircraft for the air-to-air receiver role.

It is not the Department's policy to provide details of costs on specific procurement contracts. The provision of an air-to-air refuelling receiver capability for the Vulcan, Nimrod and Hercules aircraft was one of the measures introduced during operations in the south Atlantic in 1982 as reported in Cmnd. 8758.
