§ Mr. Ron Daviesasked the Secretary of State for Social Services whether he will place in the Library a copy of the agency agreement between the Department of Health and Social Security and the Department of Employment made in 1945 and mentioned in social security commissioners' decision CSB 275/1982.
§ Dr. BoysonThe Ministry of National Insurance (Unemployment Insurance and Assistance) Order 1945:448W 1945 No. 317, transferred all functions of the Minister of Labour and National Service under the Unemployment Insurance Acts 1935 to 1944 and the Unemployment Assistance Acts 1934 to 1940, except those relating to courses of instruction, powers of education authorities and the promotion of employment, to the Minister of National Insurance. The order gave authority for agency arrangements to be made. The resultant agency agreement took the form of an exchange of letters between the Ministry of National Insurance and the Ministry of Labour and National Service. I have today placed copies of those letters in the Library.
