§ Mr. Dalyellasked the Secretary of State for Defence if he will make a statement on the loss of the Lynx helicopter piloted by Captain John Belt and Sergeant Roger Jones.
§ Mr. StanleyOn 5 January 1984 a Lynx helicopter engaged in a training mission in West Falkland was reported missing. After an extensive search the wreckage of the helicopter was located on 12 January on the sea bed just off the coast by Byron Heights. The bodies of the crew, Captain John Belt and Sergeant Roger Jones, were still inside. The cause of the accident is not yet known but a board of inquiry has been convened.
