§ Mr. WaldegraveLocal authorities already have powers to pay gratuities to non-pensionable employees under section 18, Local Government Superannuation Act 1953. My officials have had discussions with the local government employers and unions about the provisions to be included in new regulations to replace section 18, and these will be made when agreement has been reached.
