Mr. William Ross

asked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland (1) what advice his Department has given to the Western health and social services board regarding the number of hospital beds in the Londonderry area; and whether he envisages the closure of any of the hospitals in Londonderry;

(2) how many new hospital beds have been provided in Londonderry in each of the last three years; how many he expects to be provided in each of the next five years; at what hospitals and in what categories they will be provided; and if he will make a statement.
