HC Deb 19 January 1984 vol 52 c292W
Mr. Rooker

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer what is the cumulative total of tax losses available for setting against corporation tax at the latest convenient date.

Mr. Moore [pursuant to his reply, 17 January 1984, c. 195]: The estimating methods have been revised and the latest figure now stands at about £35 billion, excluding the public sector. This estimate remains extremely tentative.
