§ Mr. MacGregorThe Commission's proposal to abolish the beef variable premium scheme as a means of achieving economies has not yet been considered by the Council of Ministers. However, we have made it clear to the Commission that we see no justification for its proposal. The scheme has served United Kingdom producers and consumers well.
