§ Mr. ButlerThere are currently four Phalanx systems in operational use with the Royal Navy. All Phalanx close-in weapon systems are equipped with ammunition made of an alloy containing depleted uranium, the purpose of which is to increase the density, and hence the penetrating power, of the shot.
