HC Deb 16 January 1984 vol 52 c29W
Mr. Peter Robinson

asked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland how many handicapped teenagers are presently participating in the youth training programme in Northern Ireland.

Mr. Butler

The precise information is not available. A quarterly exercise is, however, carried out to monitor and facilitate the entry of handicapped young people into the youth training programme. On 2 September 1983, of those handicapped young people who left school this summer, 83 were in training and 295 were registered as seeking open employment; training places have been offered to all of them.
