§ Mr. Spellerasked the Secretary of State for Education and Science when he will confirm the revised articles of government for county secondary schools in Devon submitted originally on 18 June 1982 and to which no reply has been received since an interim comment on 23 August 1983.
§ Mr. DunnMy right hon. Friend has before him a number of proposed amendments to articles of government for county secondary schools which, as Devon and the other authorities involved are aware, raise fundamental questions about the appropriate balance of powers between governors and authorities. The issues are proving more complex than anticipated but resolution should be possible soon.
