§ Mr. Alexander FletcherWhen considering whether a product should be banned as not safe using the emergency powers available under the Consumer Safety Act 1978 I am not required to take into account the effect of the order on suppliers. It would be difficult to justify such action as this could encourage suppliers to pay little attention to the safety of products they were putting on the market.
