asked the Secretary of State for Social Services what are the current eligibility levels for receipt of family income supplement; and what has been the number in receipt of family income supplement in each year since 1979.

The table indicates the number of families receiving family income supplement in the year ended September 1979. I am otherwise unable to add to the information given on 9 February 1984 to my hon. Friend the Member for Norfolk, North (Mr. Howell) at c.747–48.
