Mr. Dykesasked the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry if he is satisfied with the progress being made in developing the industrial commercial and electronic investments in new assets in the interim franchise programme of the cable-television operators since the end of December 1983 to date.
§ Mr. ButcherDiscussions of the particular points arising from their applications with the 11 applicants for pilot licences are well advanced. In most cases it should be possible to bring these discussions to an early conclusion and begin the detailed preparation of the licences. It remains our intention to issue licences as soon as possible.
