Mr. Campbell-Savoursasked the Secretary of State for Social Services if he will arrange a meeting with the chairman of his Department's independent expert advisory committee on toxicity of chemicals in food to discuss his relationship with the Searle Drug company of the United States of America.
§ Mr. Kenneth ClarkeNo. I am fully aware of the chairman's tenuous links with G. D. Searle. He declared his interest in Synthelabo which has established a joint marketing company with G. D. Searle. I know of nothing to suggest that the chairman has behaved improperly in any way or been less than objective in his advice to Ministers.
