HC Deb 28 February 1984 vol 55 cc119-20W
Mr. Golding

asked the Secretary of State for Employment how many people at 10 February were receiving the part-time job release scheme allowance; how many civil servants were engaged in the administration of the part-time job release scheme allowance, both full- and part-time; and whether he will make a statement.

Mr. Alan Clark

At 10 February 1984, 26 people were receiving the part-time job release scheme allowance. One hundred and forty-two civil servants, two of whom are part-time, were engaged in the administration of both the part-time and full-time job release schemes.

The part-time job release scheme is an experimental scheme which began in October last year. Like other special employment measures it is subject to periodic review and we will be looking carefully at its progress later this year.
